Internet Access

Small businesses frequently call their local phone company, subscribe to whatever dsl service the clerk at the other end of the line says and think they have solved their Internet connectivity problems. Then, when they cannot figure out how to do something, they call us. Things would have been much easier if they had called us first.

The first thing you have to decide is, what are you using the connectivity for? Sounds simple, but it isn't. Do you want to do VOIP (Voice Over IP) now or in the near future? VOIP can work about as well as regular phone service for a lot less if you make a lot of phone calls or have a lot of lines. Secondly, do you want to access your network from outside? Do you want to work from home and have access to your network? Do you have satellite offices? Do you want to provide information to customers via your network?

The next thing to look at is how do you want the network used? Do you want all employees to be able to access everything on the Internet? Are you worried about lost productivity from time-wasting sites? Do you have frequent problems with viruses or spyware?

Once we know the answers to these questions and perhaps some follow-on questions, we can determine what will work for you. Most Internet service providers have one (or more) year minimums for service, so if you get locked into the wrong setup, it can be expensive to change.

If we know in advance what you want, we can setup:

The phone numbers on the right are for our dial-up service. We aren't taking new subscribers now, but we leave the information up for the handful of old subscribers.
